Meeting David - A Dream Come True
I am 18 years of age and I have been a David Soul fan for two years. I have always dreamt of meeting him from the first time I saw him. Well, on the 11th of May 2002 my dreams came true, as I met David Soul. This is how the day happened -- I set off to go to Bath at 2:30 with my dad. My dad and I arrived in Bath at 3:15pm. We met up with my Aunty and her partner and had a quiet drink in a small pub. I worked out that David was coming out of the matinee performance about 5pm. As I sat there I kept on looking at my watch the hours seemed to go so slow. When it finally arrived at 4:45 my Aunty and I headed up to see if David had come out. As I got there I waited for him to come out. He came out about 5pm. He was talking and signing an autograph for these ladies, after he finished with the ladies I walked up to David and asked him to sign my David soul gift book. He was in a grey jumper and grey trousers with his shades on. Looking very handsome. I said that it was a pleasure to meet him he said, "Oh, thank you." Then he asked me my name still shaking like a leaf I said, "Amy." I asked him for a picture and he stood there whilst my Aunty took the picture for me of us. I said goodbye to him and he patted me on my back and said, "It was nice to meet you." I went back to see my dad who was still in the pub and I also passed out on him! I could not believe that my dreams had actually come true. It was the most happiest few minutes of my life. And a memory that will never be forgotten for as long as I live. Before I knew it the time had passed and it was time to watch David in Deathtrap. I was having such a great day and the play was absolutely brilliant. I loved it very much. To top that day off after the performance my dad and I went around the back stage door and waited for David (again) . My dad's hero came out first, which was Susan Penhaligon. He got her autograph for me. The next to come out was Gerald Kidd. I never got his autograph as he was in a hurry. The last person to come out was definitely worth the wait. It was David Soul! I went up to him and asked him for his autograph once again. He asked me my name and I told him. After he did it he said to me, "There you go, sweetie." By this time I was shaking and my knees were like jelly.

Next thing I knew David turned to me and said, "I do
not usually do this but..." Before I knew it he had put his arm around
me and dad had taken the picture of us again. He then rubbed my back and
said, "Is that
okay?" I said, "Thank you so much." He said, "No problem" and
then he went off to the bar and dad and I set off for home. All the way home
I was thinking and going back over my magical day. The day that I met David
Soul. When I got home and I was still shaking and could not believe what a great
day I had had! I am
still in a dreaming wonderland.
Take care,
Love Amy xxxx
