Is comedy humanity's divine gift? Or its own invention designed to make the rest of life bearable?

Either way, could it conceivably be appreciated by a mere machine? And could such laughter ever possibly lead to love?

Adam and JC 31333, star-crossed, mismatched lovers of the next Millennium, face an uncertain future where everything has changed....except human nature!

This latest gem from the pen of Alan Ayckbourn's follows his previous smash-hit, Things We Do For Love, which premiered at the Yvonne Arnaud prior to a phenomenally successful West End run, and subsequently earned him the Lloyds Private Banking Playwright of the Year award. Comic Potential was first presented at the Stephen Joseph Theatre, Scarborough last year, receiving fantastic reviews:

Olivier award-winning actress Janie Dee received outstanding notices for her role as Jacie in Comic Potential at Scarborough. She is now joined by the hugely popular American actor David Soul who shot to fame in the seventies with the now cult TV series Starsky and Hutch and has since earned praise for his many roles on stage including The Aspern Papers with Hannah Gordon in the West End and a few more (waiting for biog). Matthew Cottle is well-known for his role in TVs Game On and Drop the Dead Donkey.
