Filmed in 1980
David picked this movie to get rid of his super cop image and show off his acting skill.
He plays a man convicted on a rape charge and assigned to a special therapy programme designed to reform offenders. James Whitmore plays the therapist who concentrates on helping the anguished young man admit his crime and relive the painful childhood experience that is the source of his 'rage'.
To study for this part, David has been sitting in on some meetings held to help dangerous criminals in a prison in the States.
David has been behind bars because he reckoned mixing with the prisoners would help him get a better understanding for the part he had to play.
"It was frightening," David said. "I've already met some of the guys in jail and they've been in there for years for horrific crimes."
"But by meeting them and living with them in the cell for some days, it helps me act my role for real!"
